Our Genesis Junior Ballers program is designed for players between the ages of 7 – 9 that have had some prior basketball experience. That experience could have been with camps, teams, our Genesis JR NBA program, or any other club or community basketball participation.
We will be focusing on introducing, developing, and improving our Junior Ballers shooting, ball handling, passing, individual scoring skills, moving without the ball, defensive aspects and of course, Basketball IQ.
The JR Ballers will have 1 training session, and 1 controlled scrimmage game a week. All players will also receive a uniform that will be used throughout the program.
The most important aspect of this program is that our Junior Ballers will have FUN while they are developing their game. All of our coaches are experienced, and have been developing players games at a high level for years.
This program is twice a week, and will start February 2019. Our sessions will be on Saturday mornings and Sundays. Space is limited to 40 players.
Sessions: 22 Total
Genesis Fall Academy Boys and Girls (Ages 10 – 15)
Our development academy focuses on core skills and fundamentals that will help all of our players improve their game. We work on all facets of their game from shooting and dribbling all the way to offensive and defensive concepts; our development plans are tiered and built for specific ages and grades.
We encourage our players to continue playing community basketball so we try our best to accommodate CMBA by having our academy on off days. We have most of our coaches in the gym to maximize player to coach ratio so our players get the most training and feedback on their games as possible.
For our fall program, we will be utilizing both our mini facility (The LAB) and our full court facility located at the Visions Centre, as well as SAIT.
This program is twice a week, once on Sunday and once on a weeknight. Players will receive a Genesis T shirt or reversible jersey.
Sessions: 24 Total
Genesis Boys Prep House League (Grades 10 – 12)
This program is extremely challenging, fun, competitive, and brings an exciting twist that the high school boys will love. We will be accepting a maximum of 88 players for this League.
To select the teams, all players will take part in a Basketball combine where their strength, mental game, Basketball ability and overall skills will be tested. From this combine, all coaches will sit down and draft 8 teams of 11 players.
These teams will play together on Sundays throughout the prep league, and create their own identity as a group. We will have coaches that will guide them through the league, and help with on court development and direction when needed.
The boys will get 1 game a week, 1 strength and conditioning session, and 1 basketball development training session as well. Our Genesis boys will get top level coaches, basketball IQ development, and of course skill development throughout our training.
Players will also have the option of attending a tournament series provided by Genesis and other like-minded clubs in Alberta. There will be Calgary tournaments in September and November and one in Edmonton in October. Teams will be mixed up from players in our High School Prep program.
We are excited to bring this league back to Calgary, and have seen the success of this concept, and memories it has created for past city ballers.

Genesis Girls Prep House League (Grades 9 – 12)
We are excited to roll out our High school girls training program this fall!
Our program will consist of 4 components; shooting in The LAB, high performance training, strength and conditioning, and a controlled scrimmage game. Each game day we will focus on different sets and situations so the girls get to experience and learn all that could happen on the court. International Skills trainer Bob Willett from RTN Basketball training will be working with the girls on their skill development and Basketball IQ. We will also be joined by members of current U Sports, and CCAA coaching staff throughout the season to help our players build relationships with post secondary coaches. We have confirmed with the University of Calgary, SAIT, University of Lethbridge, MacEwan University, UBCO, St. Mary's University, and Ambrose University, so far. Their level of involvement will be from leading and directing sessions, to stopping in to share some of their basketball knowledge.
During our high performance training, we will work on all facets of their game from shooting and dribbling, all the way to offensive and defensive concepts and execution.
We will be utilizing both our mini facility(The LAB), our Genesis Court at the Vision Centre, and SAIT. The girls will receive shorts and a reversible jersey or T-shirt.
This program is three times a week, with at least 1 weekday session and 1 weekend session, the third is yet to be determined. There will be a Junior Academy for grades 9, 10 and 11, and a Senior Academy for grades 11 and 12. Space is limited to 32 players per academy, 64 total.
Players will also have the option of attending a tournament series provided by Genesis and other like-minded clubs in Alberta. There will be Calgary tournaments in September and
